The decision to implement the MS ISO 9001:2000 in KEJORA was made in May 2003. Based on the ”Guidelines to Implement MS ISO 9001:2000 in Civil Service” issued by the government on 11 July 1996, the implementation of MS ISO 9001:2000 at KEJORA has surpassed the implementation stage. The appointment of task force consists of 3 groups, i.e. 2 groups from Local Government Division and 1 group from the Town Planning & Project Development Division. South East Johor Development Authority (KEJORA) secured its first MS ISO 9001:2000 certification on 8 October 2004. 

ISO 9001:2008 replace ISO 9001:2000 as a new standard on 15 November 2008. Version 2000 will no longer be issued after 15 November 2009 and ISO 9001:2000 certification validity is until 15 November 2010. As such, all organisations with ISO 9001:2000 certification need to migrate to the current standard of ISO 9001:2008 before 11 November 2010 to maintain the current standard and its relevance.

On that note and also to maintain its relevance, KEJORA successfully migrated to the new version of MS ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System on 1 December 2009.

KEJORA successfully renewed the certificate with the cooperation of SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd based on the result of MS ISO 9001:2008 Recertification Audit on 2 – 4 September 2013. The validity is until 7 October 2016 with certificate number: AR3401.
