KEJORA Housing
Introduction
Urban development has been given priority from the very beginning in KEJORA’s development agenda. To date, KEJORA has successfully built thousands of affordable housing units, commercial buildings as well as various other public and social facilities for the convenience of the majority bumiputera population. Such success has turned the KEJORA Towns from jungle areas into thriving settlements. The New Towns, especially Bandar Penawar and Bandar Mas, will develop even more rapidly in the future as a result of the spillover effects from petrochemical, tourism and biotech projects around Desaru and Pengerang which involve investments of tens of billions of Ringgit and offer more than 40,000 jobs.
The concept of urbanizing rural areas implemented by KEJORA involves the provision of well-equipped public and social facilities that have successfully created many opportunities for the population, especially in terms of economy and education. The success can also reduce the out-migration of people from rural to urban areas and attract people from outside.
